Vidant Health had two internal organizations using two different websites to recruit. Our challenge was to consolidate those sites and make such a compelling case that every local job seeker would look to Vidant Health first and the entire physician staff of “ER” at Chicago’s County General Hospital would want to turn in their letters of resignation and head to eastern North Carolina.
Highlighting community and a great place to work
We developed the careers.vidanthealth.com microsite to tell the story of “a career to fit your lifestyle," giving prospects good reasons to leave overcrowded cities and less-than-ideal climates. Video backplate banners and mood-setting text show three types of communities in which Vidant Health operates—urban areas, smaller towns, and coastal communities. Easy navigation funnelled all types of prospective employees to their destinations and we integrated the microsite with their HR systems so that visitors could apply directly from the site.
A big jump in employment interest
The careers section saw an immediate jump in interest—a 55% increase in page views. The website also garnered an honorable mention at the 2014 Webby Awards in the careers category, right behind Nike.
